San Quentin Prison Inmate Plunges To His Death
SAN QUENTIN (KCBS) — A prisoner serving a life sentence at San Quentin who fell four stories on Tuesday died on Wednesday, prison officials said.
Lt. Samuel Robinson, spokesman for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, told KCBS that Thomas Curby Henderson, who was serving forty years to life with the possibility of parole, suffered majored injures after he fell from the fourth tier of the prison on Tuesday.
He died at the hospital shortly before 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
Henderson, a former San Diego County resident, was sent to prison in 1985 after being convicted of first- and second-degree murder.
He pleaded guilty to killing an ex-girlfriend and her 5-year-old son and burying them on water district property in Ramona, according to the Los Angeles Times.
His first parole hearing was set for March 12.
San Quentin's Investigative Services Unit and the Marin County coroner's office are investigating his death.
