Woman found dead in San Jose home with signs of trauma, police say

A homicide investigation was launched after a woman was found dead in a San Jose home over the weekend.

Just before 3 a.m. on Sunday, a man called 911 after finding his mother deceased, police said.

Officers then responded to the home on the 900 block of Wainwright Drive and found the woman, who appeared to have signs of trauma.

An investigation was launched into her death, and police said they immediately identified 60-year-old Venko Gospodinov as a suspect.

Detectives learned he may be in the Capitola area, and after notifying other agencies, the California Highway Patrol arrested him in Capitola.

He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of murder.
