San Jose State Football Player Attacked In Dorm, Teammate Suspended

SAN JOSE (KPIX 5) – A San Jose State football player was allegedly attacked by a teammate this week, the latest off-the-field issue the team has dealt with before the season starts.

The incident happened Tuesday evening on the 9th floor of the Joe West Hall dorm. Chad Miller, a promising freshman player, suffered several broken bones in his face.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, Miller said in a tweet he "didn't get in a fight or get beat up. My 'teammate' hit me in my face with his skateboard when I wasn't looking." The tweet has since been deleted.

Miller went to the hospital. The player accused of hitting Miller has been suspended by the team.

Last week, police arrested freshman Kanya Bell, after he allegedly hit a woman on campus. The Spartans have since kicked Bell off the team.
