San Jose Police Arrest Man Suspected In Burglary Caught On Camera

SAN JOSE (KPIX 5) -- A man suspected of smashing his way into a San Jose home in a burglary caught on video has been arrested, a police source told KPIX 5 on Tuesday.

The arrest was made after homeowner Ryan Leiby uploaded video to YouTube of a man breaking into his home using a rock. Leiby's watch collection was stolen in the robbery.

Leiby told KPIX 5 on Monday that he went to San Jose police with video of the robbery. But the department told him that the cash-strapped department can't afford to investigate property crimes.

The homeowner said he then posted the video online and reached out to neighborhood websites, with hopes to find a suspect.

Authorities have not released the suspect's identity.
