Police Shoot Armed Robbery Suspect In San Jose

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A man wounded in a police-involved shooting in San Jose Sunday morning was a suspected armed robber, a police sergeant said.

At around 3 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call reporting an armed robbery in the 3300 block of Holly Drive, Sgt. Heather Randol said.

A man with a shotgun had reportedly held up a victim at that location, Randol said.

Officers arrived on scene and shots were fired after a brief pursuit, Randol said.

The suspect was shot at least once and taken to a hospital to be treated, Randol said.

A shotgun was found near the suspect after the shooting, Randol said.

The details of the shooting remain under investigation.
