11-year-old San Jose boy found safe after missing for a week

Police in San Jose announced that an 11-year-old boy who went missing earlier this month has been found.

On Sunday, officers said Noah Alhayek left his group home in East San Jose on Aug. 4 on foot and was believed to be at-risk.

At the time, police said Alhayek was located in the city of Colma on a prior missing person's case and that he could be in Colma and San Francisco areas. The boy was also known to have frequented several areas in south San Jose.

In an update Tuesday, police said the boy was "located safely and is back home in San Jose."

Additional details on how Alhayek was found were not immediately available.
