San Jose Man Wins $3.75 Million With Non-Winning Scratchers Ticket

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A man in San Jose will be taking home millions of dollars after winning the California Lottery's 2nd Chance Program last week.

Lottery officials said Alexander Nguyen won after entering a non-winning Scratchers ticket.

Officials said Nguyen and his wife decided to take the cash option, which came to $3.75 million.

Officials said Nguyen plans to take a vacation with his wife to "get our heads straight" and figure out what to do with the money.

The winning submission was purchased at Vogue Café at 2455 Alvin Ave. in San Jose.

The 2nd Chance Program offers players a chance to win cash and prizes with bonus and promotional draws.

Players can win by entering non-winning Scratchers tickets on the California Lottery's website and are automatically entered in two additional drawings.
