People on board the plane reported being exposed to an odor in the cabin, Humphrey said.

Everyone on the plane was able to leave it on their own, according to Humphrey.

The plane departed from Mineta San Jose International Airport at 10:07 a.m. for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona.

All passengers were accommodated on other flights to continue their trip to Phoenix, airline officials said.

A maintenance team was checking on the plane as of shortly before noon, according to airline officials.

No other details about the incident were immediately available.
