San Jose Firefighters Find Marijuana Grow After 1-Alarm Blaze

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) — Firefighters put out a one-alarm fire at a San Jose residence that was the scene of a marijuana grow operation on Sunday night, a fire dispatcher said.

The fire was reported in the 2600 block of Lanier Lane near Pellier Drive at 10:32 p.m., according to a fire dispatcher.

A marijuana grow operation was discovered inside the single-family home and the residents were present when firefighters received the emergency call, the dispatcher said.

The fire was under control by 12:24 a.m., a fire dispatcher said.

No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but fire officials said that the growers had circumvented PG&E electrical lines for their operation.
