San Jose Firefighters Battle 2 Simultaneous Friday-Night Blazes

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- The San Jose Fire Department responded simultaneously to a fire at a grocery store and another at a home late Friday night, according to fire officials.

The first fire was reported at 10:11 p.m. at a home in the 2000 block of Delbarr Court near Almaden Road.

There were no reported injuries, but fire officials said the blaze displaced five people.

Firefighters brought the fire under control at 11:58 p.m., fire officials said.

The second fire was reported at 11:11 p.m. at the Senter Food grocery store in the 3900 block of Senter Road near El Cajon Drive.

There were no reported injuries in the fire and firefighters were able to bring the fire under control early Saturday morning.

The cause of the fires is under investigation.
