Witnesses said the bicycle broke in two from the impact of the crash. The bicyclist died at the scene, while the driver took off.

"The Honda Del Sol, which was made for a very short time, almost 20 years ago. So we're hoping that narrows down the focus," Sgt. John Carr of the San Jose Police Department said.

According to Bay City News Service, the vehicle was abandoned in a parking lot near Winchester and Magliocco Drive, about a mile from the crash. Authorities are trying to identify and locate the suspect.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the San Jose Police.
