SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Fire crews are investigating three separate car fires that occurred in San Jose early Tuesday morning.

The first fire was reported shortly after 11:40 p.m. Monday at Bascom Avenue and Southwest Expressway.

Firefighters also responded to an incident that happened between midnight and 1 a.m. at Leigh Ave. and Stokes Street.

The third one broke out around 1:40 a.m. near Yerba Buena Ave. and Silver Creek Valley Road.

It's not known if they're related, but police spokesperson Sgt. Heather Randol said arson was suspected in all three events.

The public is asked to call the police department at (408) 277-8900 with any information.

Four cars were also set on fire last week in San Francisco. Investigators said they believe it happened early the morning of Dec 17 within a 10-15 block radius in the Noe Valley and Castro neighborhoods. Investigators said it is still not clear what was used to set the fires.
