San Jose Area McDonald's To Offer Garlic Fries

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A long-time Bay Area ball park favorite, garlic fries have made their appearance on the menus of four San Jose area McDonald's restaurants.

Part of the local flavors campaign, the new Gilroy Garlic Fries come in an open paper tray and are dressed with a generous helping of Gilroy-grown garlic.

The treat has been a long-time favorite of baseball fans at AT&T Park and was invented by Dan Gordon—the founder of the Gordon-Biersch brewery.

If the trial run proves to be successful, the fries will join the menus of the nearly 250 restaurants throughout the Bay Area in August.
