San Francisco Vodka Company CEO Apologizes For Comment Disparaging Special Needs Child

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – The CEO of San Francisco-based Devotion Vodka has apologized for making an inappropriate comment about a former employee's special need child, after an email surfaced on social media.

Pictures circulating on Twitter reveal an email exchange purported to be between CEO Andrew Adelman and the employee. The email claims to show Adelman asking the worker about his son, using a word that many find offensive to describe a special needs child.

On Wednesday, Adelman apologized for the comment and called the comments "completely out of character." Adelman said he would "make something positive out of it.

Devotion claims to be the first company to make U.S. produced gluten-free vodka.
