Shooting in San Francisco's Potrero Hill leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

Watch: Scene of deadly shooting in San Francisco Portrero Hill neighborhood

A shooting in San Francisco on Friday morning left at least one person dead and another person injured, police said.

The San Francisco Police Department said the shooting was reported in the area of Dakota and 25th streets in the city's Potrero Hill neighborhood at about 10:04 a.m. Officers arrived to find two people with apparent gunshot wounds, and the officer began treating the victims until medics arrived, police said.

Despite the efforts, one victim was declared dead at the scene, police said. The second victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The San Francisco Fire Department originally said that there were three victims, and police later said that a third juvenile victim was taken to the hospital by another party with superficial injuries and was not shot.

The Fire Department also said that the reporting party said a person was shooting from the window of a moving vehicle, and added that Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital was placed on lockdown, which can happen when emergency room patients are believed to still be under threat.
