San Francisco Police Release Photo Of Fatal Hit-And-Run Vehicle

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS-SF) -- Investigators released a photo Monday of the car that fatally struck a man in San Francisco's Mission District earlier this month.

The medical examiner's office identified the dead man as 28-year-old Ronald Barreto de la Cruz.

The collision was reported at about 2:20 a.m. on Dec. 18 on  Mission Street just north of 26th Street, according to police.

De la Cruz, a San Francisco resident, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died several hours later.

The driver fled in the vehicle north on Mission Street and remains at large. The vehicle was described as a four-door black Honda, Nissan or possibly a Volkswagen Passat. It should have damage to the front end or windshield.
