San Francisco Police Investigate Fillmore District Shooting

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man was injured in a shooting in San Francisco's Fillmore District Monday afternoon, a police spokesman said.

Officers responded at 12:43 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of Fillmore Street between Turk Street and Golden Gate Avenue, police spokesman Officer Carlos Manfredi said.

The shooting happened across the street from the Police Department's Northern Station at 1125 Fillmore St., Manfredi said.

The victim was hit in the lower torso and was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which aren't believed to be life-threatening, according to Manfredi.

He said police are still in the area investigating the shooting Monday. No information about a possible suspect was immediately available.
