San Francisco Police Say Saturday Gun Buyback Took In 91 Weapons

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco police took in 91 guns in Saturday's gun-buyback program, a police spokeswoman said.

Fifty-one handguns, 23 rifles, 14 shotguns and 3 assault rifles were taken off the street, San Francisco police spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatpandan said.

People were paid $100 for handguns and $200 for assault weapons with the only condition being the guns needed to be in working order.

Gatpandan said that the event was successful.
