San Francisco Muni Operators Ratify Contract That Guarantees Raises Over Three Years
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — San Francisco Muni operators ratified a new contract on Monday that guarantees them a 14.25 percent raise over three years.
The agreement, which was brokered by former Mayor Willie Brown, also calls for them to make payments into their own pension plans.
The ratification has calmed concerns over another spontaneous worker sick out like the one last month that stalled the transit system for several days.
61 percent of the workers approved the new contract, according to Muni.
The implemented raise is supposed to be enough to cover a contribution of 7.5 percent that workers will pay into their own pensions.
