SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man was allegedly hit on the head with a mallet during an argument with his neighbor in San Francisco's Mission Dolores neighborhood early Monday morning, a police spokeswoman said.

A 58-year-old man was hit around 1 a.m. in the first block of Dolores Terrace, near Dolores and 17th streets, according to police spokeswoman Sgt. Danielle Newman.

The victim told police he got into an argument with his neighbor, who then allegedly hit him on the head with a mallet, Newman said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with head injuries not considered life-threatening, she said.

The suspect, 55-year-old Arthur Galster of San Francisco, was taken into custody on aggravated assault charges, Newman said.
