Armed SF Man Arrested For Threatening To Shoot Campers At Big Sur

BIG SUR (CBS SF) -- Deputies have arrested a man found with multiple weapons, who allegedly threatened to shoot fellow campers in Big Sur on Saturday night.

According to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, unemployed suspect Oleg Sinitsin, 53, of San Francisco, threatened to shoot two campers from Los Angeles at a campground on Nacimiento-Fergusson Road around 10:45 p.m. Saturday.

The sheriff's office has not revealed any motive for the threat.

When contacted by deputies, Sinitsin was reported to be found in possession of a flare gun that had been converted into a short-barreled shotgun capable of firing .410 gauge shells.

Additionally, deputies report that they found ammunition, as well as a crossbow and a pellet rifle in Sinitsin's possession.

Sinitsin has been taken to the Monterey County Jail, the sheriff's office reports.
