San Francisco Labeled Most Expensive Summer Destination In The U.S.
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A survey from travel rating website TripAdvisor finds San Francisco is the least affordable vacation spot for tourists during the summer travel season.
San Francisco moved up three spots to edge New York in the 2014 TripIndex list, released by TripAdvisor. The city was pushed to the top with the highest average hotel price, $381 and Taxi trip $24 among the 20 U.S. destinations surveyed. The study also factored the cost of a pair of cocktails and dinner for two into their "Total Cost," but San Francisco landed near the middle of the pack on those two factors.
Trip Advisor's 'Total Price' for a San Francisco stay was $507, nearly double the lowest priced city, Las Vegas, which with a $276 total cost.
Only London and Paris were found to be slightly more expensive among the international destinations surveyed. Hanoi, Vietnam was named the most affordable international locale. Check out the complete results for yourself here.
