San Francisco Judge Orders Volkswagen To Come Up With Fix For Half Million Diesel Cars Within A Month

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- A federal judge in San Francisco has ordered Volkswagen to come up with a fix for nearly 600,000 diesel cars that are out of compliance with clean air laws within a month.

US District Judge Charles Breyer is overseeing hundreds of class-action lawsuits against the German carmaker filed after the company admitted last September to using illegal software in its diesel engines.

Breyer says the company has had five months to solve the problem, and is giving it until March 24th to come back with a solution.
