Man Pretending To Be Blind Robs Woman In San Francisco's Hayes Valley

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A woman was robbed in San Francisco's Hayes Valley neighborhood Friday by a man who pretended to be blind as he approached her, police said Monday.

Police said the 45-year-old victim was in the 300 block of Octavia Street around 1 p.m. when the suspect approached her from behind while pretending to be blind.

As he approached, he grabbed the victim's backpack and then fled on foot. The victim was not injured in the robbery but lost the backpack and cash, according to police.

No arrest had been reported in the case as of Monday morning, police said.
