San Francisco Grocery Store Security Guard Injures Woman Trying To Steal Chicken From Store

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A security guard at a supermarket in San Francisco's Western Addition neighborhood injured a woman after she stole a roasted chicken and swung it at him.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, it started around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday on the 1300 block of Webster Street. San Francisco police said the unidentified 57-year-old woman allegedly made off with the chicken.

When the security guard tried to stop her, police said the woman swung the bird at him, but missed. The guard then pushed her to the ground and she hit her head on the cement.

The woman was hospitalized with a cut on her head but is expected to survive.

Police are looking into the actions of both the woman and the security guard, neither of whom have been arrested.
