San Francisco Giants Quickly Remove Offensive Tweet

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Yet another key meltdown by the San Francisco bullpen wasn't the only thing to go seriously wrong for the Giants Monday night.

A tweet captured and reported by Yahoo Sports also was the cause of embarrassment for the team.

The tweet was sent out by the Giants staff during the game following Madison Bumgarner's third strike out of Dodgers outfielder Enrique Hernandez and triggered an instant outcry and was soon deleted.

Hernandez's nickname is Kiké with a tilde over the e.

Some were offended by the use of "KKK" for the three strikeouts, pointing out those letters are more commonly used in reference to the Ku Klux Klan.

Without the tilde over the "e" – the word comes out as kike – a derogatory slur offensive to Jewish people.
