San Francisco Firefighters Knock Out Two-Alarm Blaze At Bayview Dry Cleaners

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — Fire officials are conducting an investigation at the scene of a two-alarm structure fire in San Francisco's Bayview District that began early Monday morning.

The fire was reported at 3:20 a.m. inside of Mcaffee's One-Hour Dry Cleaners at 4130 Third Street.

 

Police reopened Third Street for traffic, including Muni's T-Third Muni line, between Hudson and Innes Avenues around 6 a.m.

Fire Division Chief Matthew McNaughton said told KCBS that fire was "roaring" when crews first arrived forcing them to go inside the building because there in apartment unit above.

"The men and women did a fabulous job getting in line and aggressively fighting it and moving forward for a primary surge," McNaughton said.

"Fortunately, the unit above was vacant."

There was some damage to an adjoining a four-story construction project but no injuries were reported.
