Benioff Jabs Former Employer, Tweets 'It's A Man World At Oracle'

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Salesforce Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff didn't wait long to take another jab at his former employer Oracle, but this time on the theme of women leaders.

In a tweet Sunday, Benioff slammed the company saying, "It's man's world at Oracle. Don't look for any women in the keynotes at Oracle Open World."

Oracle's all-male keynote lineup for their annual OpenWorld convention at the end of this month is a stark contrast from Salesforce's equivalent Dreamforce. Over a third of the convention speakers this year were women, ranging from celebrities to tech company CEOs.

But according to the companies' websites, women make up about 25 percent of Oracle's leadership roles compared to only 19 percent at Salesforce.

Regardless of company demographics, Benioff has made headlines as a crusader for equal pay.

He told The Huffington Post last April he's currently reviewing of all his 16,000 employees to ensure everyone is getting paid equally. He said he's already given some women raises and expects to be giving many more over the next few years.

"My job is to make sure that women are treated 100 percent equally at Salesforce in pay, opportunity and advancement," he said, adding that he's unsure what kind of pay gay currently exists at Salesforce, but not for long. "When I'm done there will be no gap," he said.

Benioff's latest tweet on women keynote speakers comes weeks after he was asked why his new president and former Oracle Vice President Keith Block attended the Dreamforce convention without a tie.

"You can see him today wearing jeans, his sports coat, looking actually somewhat relaxed," Benioff responded. "We get these guys who get shot out of the Oracle cannon. They show up at Salesforce, ready to go, filled with a very deep PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), and our job is to kind of shake them down."
