Sonoma County Sheriff lifts evacuation warning for Russian River flood zone areas

Residents along Russian River deal with long detours after road washed out

An evacuation warning has been lifted for low-lying areas along the Russian River from unincorporated Healdsburg at U.S. Highway 101 downstream to Jenner following stormy weather earlier this month, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

In Forestville, Rio Vista Road is still closed at Westside Road after a Feb. 4 landslide.

The evacuation order for low-lying areas along the river was downgraded to an evacuation warning on Feb. 7.

To report a road obstruction, people can call the Sonoma County Transportation and Public Works Department at (707) 565-5100 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Sheriff's Office at (707) 565-2121 after hours.

Road closure information for unincorporated areas can be found at www.socopsa.org
