Rockies Fan Throws Back Giants Home Run Ball; Family Kicked Out Of Stadium
DENVER (CBS SF) – A Colorado Rockies fan who took his family to a game against the visiting San Francisco Giants was kicked out of Coors Field Tuesday night after throwing back a Giants home run ball.
Denver CBS station KCNC-TV reported that Brandon Sanchez took his wife and two sons to the game Tuesday night. For his boys, it was their first Rockies game.
"We were rewarding them for their good behavior at school," Sanchez said.
The family was sitting in the outfield seats when Giants catcher Trevor Brown hit a home run in the top of the sixth inning. Not realizing it was against Coors Field policy, Sanchez said he threw Brown's home run ball back onto the field, after seeing fans at other ballparks throw back home run balls from the visiting team.

A stadium employee who saw Sanchez throw the ball onto the field called for police, and Sanchez and his family were escorted out of the stadium.
Tuesday night's game was won by the Giants by a score of 7-2.
The Rockies declined KCNC-TV's request for comment. Sanchez said if this happens again, he would give a home run ball to his boys.
The policy at Coors Field stands in contrast to the policy at AT&T Park, where fans often throw back opposing team home runs.
According to a ballpark guide posted on the San Francisco Giants website: "Guests entering the playing field, or who throw (or attempt to throw) objects, with the exception of home run balls, in the stands or onto the field, are subject to ejection and criminal prosecution. Fans interfering while a ball is in play are subject to ejection."
