Man In Car Unhurt After Being Shot At 37 Times In Richmond

RICHMOND (CBS SF) – A suspect fired 37 shots at a man in another car in Richmond Sunday night but miraculously no one was injured, a police lieutenant said Monday.

The city's Shotspotter gunfire detection system recorded 37 shots fired in the 2900 block of Shane Drive at 8:50 p.m., police Lt. Andre Hill said.

The gunfire came from a suspect who was either the driver or the passenger in a car driving by. He was shooting at a man in a parked car and hit the car dozens of times but did not injure the man or anyone else, Hill said.

Police spoke to the victim, who said he did not know why anyone would shoot at him, Hill said. The suspect remains at large.
