Richmond Man Dies After Being Slapped In Face; Suspect Arrested

RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- A Richmond man died Thursday evening after a person allegedly struck him in the face with his open hand, police said Friday.

Officers responded at about 7:30 p.m. to the 1500 block of Cutting Boulevard where they found Eric Rismay, 66, inside a store unconscious and breathing, police said.

Rismay later died at a hospital, according to police.

Officers said the suspect in the death is Richmond man Roshon Brown, 26, who was at the store when they arrived, police said.

Rismay was allegedly struck by Brown because of a spat involving a member of Brown's family, according to police.

Brown allegedly struck Rismay outside the store and Rismay then went into the store where he collapsed, police said.

Officers arrested Brown on suspicion of manslaughter, according to police.
