Richmond Firefighters Find Marijuana Grow Operation During House Fire

RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- Firefighters responding to a house fire in Richmond early Tuesday morning found a marijuana grow operation there, a fire battalion chief said.

The one-alarm fire was reported around 4 a.m. at 1825 Hellings Ave. and was extinguished about 10 minutes later, Richmond fire Battalion Chief Manly Moulton said.

The single-story home was vacant at the time and no injuries were reported in the blaze, Moulton said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, he said.
