Residents Warned To Lock Cars After Thieves Ransack Cars In Moraga

MORAGA (CBS SF) -- Several unlocked vehicles in Moraga were robbed in residential neighborhoods Saturday night, police Chief Jon King said.

"This only takes seconds; then they are off looking for their next victim," King said in a statement.

"While everyone is busy and often in a hurry, these crimes are easily prevented by simply locking your car, even when it is parked in your driveway," King said.

Additionally, King recommended that residents hide valuables from view and report suspicious persons seen in their neighborhood.

Two robberies, 41 burglaries and 136 instances of larceny were reported in Moraga last year.
