Redwood City Cops Using Pinterest To Return Stolen Property

REDWOOD CITY (CBS SF) - Redwood City police are taking a new approach to reconnect stolen items with their rightful owners—they're putting it up on Pinterest, a social networking site.

Currently, the Police Department is still searching for the owners of items including jewelry, bicycles, Richard Nixon stamps and other valuables stolen in 2011.

Police said the items were stolen from local residences and from the Pacific Athletic Club in Redwood City.

According to police, the suspect targeted homes listed for sale.

All items are viewable at www.pinterest.com/redwoodcitypd/recovered-property.

Proof of ownership will be required in order to claim any of the items, police said.
