Real Estate Developer Found Dead On Street In Stockton

STOCKTON (KCBS/AP) -- A murder investigation is underway in Stockton after a real estate developer was found dead on a darkened street in a central part of the city.

The body of Ten Space Developers Chief Brand Officer Ted Egkan was discovered around 2 a.m. Sunday morning, just hours after Egkan had led a group of San Francisco Bay Area artists on a tour of one of his company's buildings.

According to the police reports, officers were in central Stockton when a person told them there was what appeared to be a dead man lying in the gutter. The man had obvious signs of trauma and medics were unable to resuscitate him.

Egkan and his partners at Ten Space were trying to move housing, entertainment, jobs, retail and dining into downtown Stockton as part of a revitalization project.
