Razor Blades Found In Easter Grass Package In Livermore

LIVERMORE (CBS SF) -- A Livermore woman found razor blades inside a package of Easter grass for hunting eggs.

Melissa Myhre said she found the two razor blades inside the package while making Easter baskets for her children. "The blades were the breakaway type and looked like the size you would find in an x-acto knife," Myhre told the Livermore Patch.

Myhre said the bag wasn't opened when she bought it from a Dollar Tree store at 1490 Railroad Avenue in Livermore.

Myher called police when she found the razors, and gave them back to the store, which pulled the decorative grass from store shelves.

A Dollar Tree employee told Patch that as soon as they were notified of the discovery, they checked every bag of Easter grass in the store and pulled the remaining bags from the shelves. According to the employee, the grass was made in China.

Livermore Police told Patch said Myhre contacted police but police determined that the incident did not look criminal in nature.
