Rainy Weather Causes So Many Bay Area Crashes That CHP Loses Count
OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- The California Highway Patrol was scrambling to keep up with the slew of crashes to due to rainy weather on Bay Area highways Wednesday.

The rainy weather caught many people by surprise.
Earlier in the day, a pickup truck going too fast overturned just off the Bay Bridge.

Later Wednesday afternoon, CHP Oakland told KPIX 5 it counted 34 crashes on Bay Area roadways as of 4:00 p.m., which is twice as many crashes as a normal day.
