Popular Berkeley Alehouse Closes Its Doors

BERKELEY (CBS SF) -- A favorite brew spot for Berkeley beer lovers has closed its doors.

Pyramid Berkeley Alehouse is closed for good. The owners are selling the distinct warehouse that housed the brewery and restaurant.

Known not just for serving a variety of beers, the Alehouse hosted outdoor movie nights, private parties, and sports events.

"We have made the decision to focus our west coast production in our Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington locations, and have therefore decided to close and sell our Berkeley property," said Kris Sirchio, CEO of North American Breweries.

In a press release, NAB thanked "employees, vendors, business partners, and the entire Berkeley community for their support and loyalty over the last 18 years."

All other NAB alehouse locations will remain open, including the Walnut Creek facility.
