Prosecutors Say Monterey County Man Was Looking For Women's Underwear In Residential Burglary

SEASIDE (CBS SF) -- A Seaside man has been convicted of two felony counts of first-degree residential burglary, according Monterey County District Attorney Dean D. Flippo.

Prosecutors said Leonardo Casas, 23, twice broke into a residence to steal clothes and look for women's underwear.

Prosecutors announced the conviction Thursday.

Prosecutors said the first incident occurred on Jan. 19, when Casas climbed through the kitchen window of a residence, went into the home's garage and rifled through laundry looking for women's underwear.

Casas was arrested for the break-in and was out on bail for the first offense when prosecutors said he again broke into the same residence on March 10 and was seen leaving the home after stealing clothes from the garage.

Casas will be sentenced on July 30. He faces up to nine years and four months in prison.
