OAKLAND (CBS SF) - Praise has been raining down on the World Champion Golden State Warriors in the hours since they end the franchise's 40 year title drought, including from the highest offices in the land.

"What a team win for the Warriors and an epic season for Steph," President Obama wrote on his personal #POTUS Twitter account.

Former Oakland Mayor and current California Governor Jerry Brown voiced his civic pride after the win too.

"Thanks @ Warriors for making Oakland a championship city again," he said.

He also re-tweeted the president and the Warriors to praise the big win over Cleveland in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

The world champions will return home Wednesday. A parade through the streets of Oakland is set for Friday morning.
