Large White Shark Likely Killed By Mystery Sea Creature Off Australian Coast

(CBS SF) -- Great White sharks are thought of as one of the world's most feared predators, but documentary filmmakers say the tables have been turned after a nearly 10-foot shark was eaten by another sea creature in the waters off Australia.

"The question that came not only to my mind, but everyone's mind that was involved was, what did that?" filmmaker David Riggs said.

Evidence suggests that the tag had been inside another animal.

"That tag was thirty degrees warmer than the water in which it was swimming," John McCosker, Senior Scientist at the California Academy of Science said.

No one saw exactly what happened to the shark in Australia.
