3 Powerball Tickets In California Matched 5 Of 6 Numbers

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Californians didn't win the $700 million Powerball jackpot, but three Powerball tickets sold in the state matched five of six numbers, according to the California Lottery.

Wednesday's winning numbers were 6, 7, 16, 23, 26, and the Powerball is 4.

The three tickets in the state with five out of six numbers were sold from stores in Newport Beach, Milpitas and Daly City.

Lottery officials say one winning ticket was sold for the $758 million Powerball jackpot, but not in California.

The California Lottery reports that its sales rose by 13.5 percent in the fiscal year 2015-16. As a result, the California Lotter sent a record of more than $1.5 billion in supplemental funding to California public schools.

Over 80 percent of those funds went to K-12 education, while more than 13 percent went to community colleges.
