Powerball Jackpot Grows To $700M, Union City Ticket Worth $1.4M

UNION CITY (CBS SF) – No one won Wednesday night's $500,000,000 Powerball jackpot, setting up a record-breaking $700 million jackpot for Saturday's drawing. Meanwhile, a ticket worth $1.4 million was sold in Union City.

California Lottery officials said the ticket was sold at Perry's Liquor on Alvarado Blvd. The ticket matched five out of the six numbers in Wednesday night's drawing.

Lottery officials said 17 tickets sold in California matched four numbers plus the Powerball. Those tickets have a prize of more than $21,300.

Wednesday night's winning numbers are 2, 11, 47, 62, 63, and the Powerball is 17.

According to The Associated Press, Saturday night's drawing breaks the record set by a $656 million Mega Millions jackpot in 2012.
