PowerBall Jackpot Swells To $380 Million – 6th Largest Ever

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - You might want to start bringing an extra buck or two to work each day. The latest PowerBall pool is big enough that your co-workers are about to start hitting you up to join the office pool.

The California Lottery sent out a memo Friday pointing out that, after nobody matched all six numbers in Wednesday's drawing, Saturday night's draw should be worth about $380 million.

"If a lucky California Lottery player comes through and matches all six numbers, they'll have the option of taking an estimated $256.8 million lump sum amount. And, the retail location that sells the winning ticket will receive the maximum bonus of $1 million," lottery officials report.

Saturday's jackpot will be the largest since a Milpitas man took home $425.3 million last February.
