'Ponch' The Bay Bridge Chihuahua Going To Foster Home Before Adoption

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) -- The little Chihuahua that led California Highway Patrol officers on a chase across the Bay Bridge over the weekend is heading to a foster home before going up for adoption.

Ponch the black Chihuahua mix has been with San Francisco Animal Care and Control since he was rescued from the bridge Sunday morning.

The CHP in San Francisco tweeted this picture of a chihuahua that ran free on the upper deck of the Bay Bridge Sunday morning.

It took a motorcycle, squad cars, and several officers to catch Ponch, which forced all lanes of the bridge's upper deck to be closed during the chase.
