Police Arrest 2 Suspects Following Wild Chase from Daly City to S.F.

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A Daly City motorcycle police officer was injured Sunday during the pursuit of suspects who were spotted casing vehicles in the Serramonte Center parking lot.

Authorities said that at about 11:40 a.m. Daly City officers responded to a report of suspicious suspects looking into parked vehicles at the Serramonte Center in Daly City.

 

The officers located a vehicle that may have been associated with the alleged offenses and gave chase on northbound Interstate Highway 280 toward San Francisco.

A Daly City motorcycle officer was involved in a solo crash in the vicinity of Highway 280 and Alemany Boulevard. The officer was taken to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and is in stable condition.

Shortly after the officer's crash, the suspect vehicle was involved in a collision on the Alemany Boulevard off-ramp from Highway 280, police said. No one was injured.

The suspects fled on foot into a nearby neighborhood and was taken into custody a short time later. They were arrested on suspicion of auto burglary and evading an officer.
