Police Say Man Who Died On Redwood City Jogging Path Suffered Medical Emergency

REDWOOD CITY (CBS SF) -- A male pronounced dead on a Redwood City jogging path Monday afternoon was a Redwood Shores resident, police said.

Officers and firefighters responded to a report of a person down in the area of Beacon Shores Drive and Marine Parkway around 3:20 p.m.

Crews located the unresponsive male on a jogging path and tried to resuscitate him but pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.

A preliminary investigation indicates he was suffered a medical emergency and there are no signs of foul play, according to police.

Police have not released his name but said his next of kin has been notified.

The San Mateo County coroner's office also responded to the scene.
