Police Say Alameda Woman Killed Boyfriend In His Sleep, Waited For Cops After Calling 9-1-1
ALAMEDA (CBS/AP) — Investigators say a woman shot and killed her boyfriend as he slept inside a Northern California apartment and then called police and waited at the scene for officers to arrest her.
The Oakland Tribune reports (http://bayareane.ws/1lpE1C4 ) Alameda County prosecutors on Monday charged 54-year-old Donna Marie Qualls with murder in the slaying of 73-year-old Emmanuel Emmett Christy Sr.
Alameda police officers on Thursday found Christy dead with a single gunshot wound to his head in the bedroom of an Alameda apartment.
Alameda police Lt. Jill Ottaviano says it's very unusual to have a case where someone calls and says they have killed someone and then wait at the scene.
Investigators declined to comment on a motive in the case.
