Police Investigate Friday-Night Shooting in San Francisco Mission District

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man is in the hospital Friday evening with life-threatening injuries after San Francisco police said he was shot in the Mission District, leaving them to search for a suspect.

A San Francisco police spokesperson said late Friday evening that the shooting happened just before 8 p.m. in the area of San Jose Avenue and 23rd Street.

On scene, officers found a man inside a car suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Police remained on the scene as of 10 p.m. as they continued to investigate the incident and look for a suspect.
